Footprint’s Solution in Action: Modernizing the Café Experience
Pastry Program Rollout
The global coffee chain identified an opportunity to expand its food program and elevate the in-store experience with a new line of premium pastries. The initiative required upgrading ovens, thaw racks, and refrigeration equipment across more than 3,000 cafés—each with unique layouts and operating constraints.
Footprint Solutions was selected for its ability to manage complex, large-scale retail deployments. Leveraging its national logistics network and regional service centers, Footprint consolidated freight, staged deliveries, and coordinated installation with precision. Real-time progress tracking, store-specific scheduling, and post-installation verification kept every café operational during the transition. The program delivered on time, enabling the coffee brand to launch its expanded food menu consistently and efficiently across multiple markets.
Espresso Machine Upgrade
As part of its commitment to quality and consistency, the coffee brand sought to replace its legacy espresso machines with new, high-performance systems capable of delivering faster service and improved reliability. The program involved nearly 7,500 cafés and required specialized electrical, plumbing, and calibration work—along with certified disposal of existing units.
Footprint Solutions was chosen for its ability to execute high-volume, technically complex rollouts without disrupting business operations. Overnight crews completed full installations of the new systems, following standardized checklists and brand-specific protocols. Each location was tested, calibrated, and verified before opening, giving the coffee chain a next-generation espresso platform that improved beverage consistency and reduced operational downtime.
Condiment Cart Installations
The coffee chain also aimed to refresh its front-of-house experience by introducing new condiment carts that improved store flow, accessibility, and brand presentation. The rollout required customized solutions for different store formats and coordination with multiple manufacturers and distribution partners.
Footprint Solutions was selected to lead the effort due to its proven experience managing retail fixture programs at scale. The team received seven unique cart designs from three distribution centers, pre-assembled components at regional hubs, and installed 670 units within four weeks. Each installation was verified for ADA compliance, placement accuracy, and material quality. The project delivered a consistent, high-quality front-of-house refresh while maintaining uninterrupted service across all participating cafés.
